Hi, I’m Charlotte

I am a writer, activist, and founder of Help Me Leave, an international not for profit organisation that helps at risk people find safe and legal pathways to lives in other countries

Through my work as an author and creator, my mission is to provide an accessible entry point for global citizens to take action and change the course of history.

I've spent the last decade watching the world shift in ways that scared me. For a long time I did what most of us do — I read, I worried, I talked about it with people in my ‘real’ life who felt the same way.

Then I reached a point where inaction felt like complicity. So I built the communities I needed: to make sense of it, to take action, and to find others who felt the same way.

What followed was not planned.

I started writing.

I started a penpal project.

Then I founded an international non-profit.

I am also, somehow, learning to crochet.

What I do

I write about fascism, resistance, and history for an international audience of hundreds of thousands of people across social platforms.

My work is built around one idea: that understanding what is happening is the first step to changing it, and that ordinary people have more power than they are led to believe.

My debut book, Letters from America, will be published in Autumn 2026: a portrait of modern America, told through the letters of people watching their democracy fall.

I live in France with my husband, three children, three cats, and flock of chickens. Before all of this I built my career in data analytics.

It turns out that being good at spotting patterns is quite useful when you're trying to understand how democracies unravel.

This is what happens when ordinary people stop waiting for permission to act.

Current Projects

Letters From America

In 2025, I started a transatlantic penpal project to capture first hand testimony of how Trump’s second presidential term was affecting everyday Americans. What emerged was a story of terror, rage, resilience, and hope.

Charlotte Vs Tyranny

The center of my resistance work, housed on Substack. Political analysis, historical context, and a clear path to action for everyone paying attention.

Help Me Leave

Founded in July 2025 in response to the very real and justified fears of people facing state-sanctioned threat. We help people find safe and legal migration pathways and advocate for the rights of migrants worldwide
